Oak Hill Police investigate overnight stabbing

Stabbing

OAK HILL, W.Va. — Authorities are sorting through a Monday night incident that left two people with lacerations.

Oak Hill Police Chief Mike Whisman said officers responded to a residence along the 100 block of Summerlee Ave. just before 7:30 Monday evening. Upon arrival, they found a male with minor cuts.

The subject told officers we was attempting to break up an argument between his mother and sister. He said his wounds were accidental and that he did not want to press any criminal charges.

The mother also said she did not want to press charges against her daughter, who had already left the scene.

At around 10:50, officers received a call to Plateau Medical Center for another patient with lacerations. They found the daughter had fled to the hospital for treatment for cuts after the fight with her mother. The daughter was reportedly uncooperative with police and did not want to file charges either.

Whisman said without any involved parties wanting to press charges, he isn’t sure where the investigation will go from here.

“I am not sure what, if any, charges will be filed and who may or may not be charged. We will continue the investigation in case someone becomes more willing to cooperate.”

The daughter has since been released from the hospital.
