Update: Additional murder charges filed in death of man in McDowell County

WELCH, W.Va. — Two suspects connected to the death of a Minnesota resident whose skeletal remains were discovered in McDowell County in September have been charged with murder.

Amanda Michelle Naylor McClure, 31, of Chisago City, Minnesota, and Larry McClure, 55, of Gary, West Virginia, were charged Monday with first degree murder in the death of John Thomas McGuire, whose remains were found buried in a shallow grave Sept. 24.

A third suspect, Anna Marie Choudhary, 32, of Lincoln County, was charged last week in McDowell County Magistrate Court with first degree murder and conspiracy.

According to West Virginia State Police, the suspects all took part in the death of McGuire, then buried the body on Larry McClure’s property in Skygusty.

Investigators said McGuire likely died in February, though the manner of death has not been disclosed.

The suspects are being held at South Central Regional Jail.
