The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department says Corporal Matthew Perry pulled over a white SUV just before midnight Saturday after noticing it driving suspiciously slow. When the driver tried to flee by turning off the headlights, deputies eventually stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Daniel Powell.
A search turned up Suboxone strips, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and more than seven thousand dollars in cash.
Powell first denied having a passenger but later admitted that another man, Landon Kingsley, had run from the scene. A K-9 unit tracked him down a short time later.
Deputies recovered about 11 grams of meth, 6 grams of fentanyl, and three Suboxone strips.
Kingsley faces charges including possession with intent to deliver and drug conspiracy, while Powell is charged with fleeing, obstruction, and conspiracy.
