An Oak Hill man is facing multiple felony charges after a violent domestic assault left a pregnant woman hospitalized with serious injuries.
According to the Oak Hill Police Department, officers were dispatched around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2026, following a domestic incident connected to Pine Knoll Apartments. Police were notified after staff at Raleigh General Hospital contacted Fayette County 911 regarding a patient being treated for severe injuries consistent with an assault.
The victim arrived at the hospital accompanied by a friend and was suffering from a stab wound, extensive bruising to her face and body, multiple bite marks on her legs, and other injuries. Hospital staff also reported that the woman was pregnant at the time of the attack.
An Oak Hill police officer responded to the hospital and observed injuries consistent with an extended assault, including deep bruising on the victim’s arms, legs, and back; a cut beneath her arm where she reported being struck with a knife; a stitched stab wound to her thigh; a busted lip; and multiple bite marks on her lower leg and thigh.
The victim told police her boyfriend, Antwjuan Menuel Pagan, attacked her earlier that evening inside her Pine Knoll apartment after becoming intoxicated and enraged over a video game. She reported that Pagan beat her, stabbed and cut her with a knife, bit her several times, and struck her with a metal towel holder he ripped from the wall.
After the assault, the victim said she was taken to Pagan’s mother’s residence on Crestview Drive, where she was able to escape and contact a relative for help. She was transported to Raleigh General Hospital around 7 p.m.
The victim told officers she was approximately 16 weeks pregnant and stated the abuse was not an isolated incident. She and a friend reported a history of domestic violence involving Pagan, including prior protective orders and previous arrests.
Early Sunday morning, January 17, Oak Hill police served arrest warrants on Pagan at a residence on Crestview Drive. He was charged with domestic battery and malicious assault. While being processed, Pagan allegedly refused to provide identifying information, resulting in an additional charge of obstructing an officer.
Pagan was transported to Southern Regional Jail, where he is being held on a $15,000 bond.
