The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office is commending Corporal R. Talley III and his K-9 partner, Bucky, for their quick response in locating a runaway juvenile earlier this month.
According to the sheriff’s office, Cpl. Talley III responded to a report of a runaway juvenile on January 6, 2026, in the Mabscott area of Raleigh County. During the investigation, he deployed K-9 Bucky to track the juvenile’s location.
After running the trail, Cpl. Talley III and K-9 Bucky were able to locate the juvenile a short time later. Officials said the juvenile was found safely and returned without incident.
Sheriff Frank Priddy and Chief Deputy Frankie Shelton praised the K-9 team for their swift and effective response, highlighting their dedication and professionalism in ensuring the juvenile’s safe return.
