Summers County emergency officials say one person was injured in a single-vehicle crash Friday morning and flown to Roanoke, Virginia, for treatment.
According to Summers County 911, the accident happened around 6:23 a.m. on Route 20 near Pipestem Falls. The Pipestem Volunteer Fire Department, Summers County EMS, and West Virginia State Police responded to the scene.
Summers County Office of Emergency Management/911 Director Loyd Lowry told 59News that the vehicle’s sole occupant was able to self-extract following the crash. The individual was later airlifted to Roanoke with injuries described as primarily facial.
The identity of the victim has not been released, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
