Mountaineer Gas customers will see a rate increase beginning in 2026 following approval from the West Virginia Public Service Commission.

The PSC approved a settlement agreement allowing Mountaineer Gas Company to collect an additional $5.2 million to fund pipeline replacement and other infrastructure upgrades. The increase is part of the company’s Infrastructure Replacement and Expansion Program, aimed at accelerating the replacement of aging natural gas lines.

The new rates will take effect January 1, 2026.

Under the approved settlement, the average residential customer will see their monthly bill increase by approximately $1.55, or 1.93 percent.

The Public Service Commission received four letters of protest before approving the agreement.
