A Bluefield man has pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge involving methamphetamine.

Landon Joseph Cartwright, 22, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine, according to court records.

Investigators say officers executed a search warrant at Cartwright’s residence in June 2023, where they seized more than 400 grams of methamphetamine. As part of his guilty plea, Cartwright admitted the drugs belonged to him and that he intended to distribute them.

Cartwright is scheduled to be sentenced in April 2026. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison, with a maximum possible sentence of up to 40 years, at least four years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $5 million.
