Talcott is glowing with excitement ahead of its annual Parade of Lights.
The event, sponsored by the Talcott Fire Department, will take place Saturday, December 20, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to participate by decorating vehicles and joining the parade.
Organizers welcome entries of all kinds, including four-wheelers, side-by-sides, and pickup trucks, and encourage participants to light up the community.
The parade route will follow the same path as last year, starting on Barger Springs Road, continuing onto Lowell Back Road, and traveling through Pence Springs to WV Route 3/12. From there, the parade will move west through Talcott to Hilldale, then head south on WV Route 12 to Forest Hill.
After turning around in Forest Hill, the parade will travel along 4-H Camp Road, following the route back toward Barger Springs Road and Doc Fox Road. The procession will then return from Doc Fox Road to Barger Springs Road and back into Talcott.
The parade will conclude at the future home of the Talcott Fire Department, located beside the post office.
Santa Claus will be on hand at the finish with hot chocolate and cookies for attendees.
