LEWISBURG, W.V. — A routine call to the Lewisburg Walmart turned into an arrest Saturday after police say a woman was caught inhaling air duster inside the store.

Police Response:
Officers were called to the Jefferson Street North Walmart on December 1, 2025. Patrolman Thomas arrived to find Sgt. Williams with the suspect, identified as Vicky Scott, along with Walmart Asset Protection staff.

What Employees Saw:
Asset Protection employees reported that Scott inhaled from multiple cans of air duster while walking through the aisles. She was also pushing a cart containing unpaid items — an air duster can, two AV accessories, and a Mountain Dew — totaling $24.00.

Admission and Escalation:
Police say Scott verbally admitted to inhaling air duster. She was taken to the API office for trespass paperwork. Moments later, Sgt. Williams escorted her out in restraints after she allegedly attempted to inhale another can during questioning and began pulling away from him.

Arrest & Processing:
Scott was transported to the Lewisburg Police Department, where police say she again admitted to inhaling air duster inside the store. She was later taken to Southern Regional Jail.

Charges:
The incident resulted in charges related to inhalant abuse and shoplifting.
