The West Virginia State Police will conduct a DUI checkpoint this week in Raleigh County.
According to a press release, the checkpoint will take place from 6 p.m. to midnight on Thursday, December 4, 2025, along U.S. Route 19 in the Beckley area. The location is approximately 0.1 mile south of the intersection with WV Route 41, also known as Johnstown Road.
State Police say the checkpoint is intended to reduce impaired driving and raise awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The release also encouraged the community to assist law enforcement by reporting suspected impaired drivers to local police agencies, their nearest West Virginia State Police detachment, or Crime Stoppers of West Virginia.
