Beckley is set to get a major boost in family entertainment with the announcement of Skate Central, a new state-of-the-art indoor entertainment facility planned to open in August 2026.
What to Expect
Skate Central will feature:
Roller skating rink
Multi-level laser tag arena
Full-service onsite restaurant
Birthday party rooms
Space for private events and school outings
The center aims to become a go-to hub for family fun in southern West Virginia.
Filling a Community Need
“We saw a need for a modern, multi-attraction family center in the Beckley area especially after the MacArthur Skating Rink was demolished, and we are incredibly excited to bring the vision of Skate Central to life,” said Jonathan Schmier, Operations Manager of T.J. Entertainment.
Schmier described the project as a significant investment the company hopes will become “the premier spot for weekend outings, school events, and unforgettable birthday parties.”
Location Still Being Finalized
While the facility will be located in Beckley, the exact site has not yet been selected. Officials say they are evaluating multiple potential locations.
