A Mercer County man was arrested Friday evening after reportedly exposing himself to a state trooper responding to a domestic disturbance call, according to the West Virginia State Police.

Around 7:59 p.m. on October 10, 2025, Mercer County 911 dispatched a trooper to the Flat Top area following a report from a caller who said Cody Hicks was throwing and breaking items inside a home.

While traveling along Piney Flats Road toward the residence, the trooper spotted Hicks standing on the edge of the roadway. As the trooper approached, Hicks allegedly exposed himself and made obscene gestures toward the officer.

When the trooper arrived at the home, both victims confirmed Hicks had been acting violently—throwing a pumpkin, breaking glass, and attempting to spit on them. One victim said Hicks did spit on her, and officers observed evidence of this on her sweatshirt.

The women declined to press domestic charges, but Hicks was taken into custody for indecent exposure and disorderly conduct.
