CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Hope Gas, Inc. has filed a request with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia (PSC) seeking approval to raise natural gas rates for customers in 35 counties across the state.
If approved, the proposed increase would generate about $79.6 million in additional annual revenue, representing a 40.95% overall rate hike.
The proposed changes would impact customers in counties including Boone, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Nicholas, Raleigh, and Wyoming, among others.
The PSC has suspended the effective date of the proposal until February 24, 2026. If the rate increase is approved, new rates would take effect February 25, 2026.
