PAX, W.Va. (WJLS News) — A railroad crossing in Fayette County will be temporarily closed later this month for repair work.

According to a press release, starting at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, repairs to the crossing in the Town of Pax will require the temporary closure of Paint Creek Road (County Route 23).

The closure will remain in place until the work is completed. Drivers will still be able to access properties along Paint Creek Road by using Packs Branch Road (Fayette County Route 27) and Maple Fork/Sweeneysburg Road (Raleigh County Route 1).

Motorists are urged to use alternate routes and follow all posted traffic signs in the work zone.
Kanawha River Railroad apologized for any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause.
